Klára Panzarová (Šimková) obtained her PhD at the Plant Institute at ETH University in Zurich in Switzerland where she studied the regulatory mechanisms involved in singlet oxygen mediated retrograde signalling in Arabidopsis thaliana in group of Prof. Klaus Apel. For postdoctoral studies she moved to group of Prof. Sam Zeeman as well at ETH Zurich where she worked on unravelling functional properties of two starch degradation related proteins involved in transcriptional regulation of sugar metabolism. After two years of post doc, she moved out of academia and joined as senior scientist innovative biotechnological company Photon Systems Instruments (PSI) in Czech Republic. Here, she is focusing on product development and research innovations in the field of non-destructive image based phenotyping technologies. Currently she is chief scientist for technical support and is as head of PSI Phenotyping Research Center responsible for running two phenotyping platforms and co-ordination of national and international research projects.
