This is a project to build a high-tech scientific research centre in Brno, under the name CEITEC - Central European Institute of Technology, the Brno University of Technology is one of the biggest partners. It is the guarantor of two research programs: Advanced nanotechnology and microtechnology and Advanced Materials.
Due to the involvement of several departments, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering , the Faculty of Chemistry and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication Technology, a simpler organization was established within the Technical University in Brno under a separate organizational unit, the University Institute CEITEC. This works as an independent accounting unit set up to implement the project, look after property or make purchases for the project, organise public tenders, authorise planned scientific activities and to run the organisational processes. It will be housed together with the newly constructed laboratories in Brno at the University campus, VUT, Pod palackeho vrchem.
The University Institute CEITEC was authorized by prof. Ing. Radimír Vrba, CSc. who is also the Scientific Director of CEITEC for the area of advanced materials and technologies.
