We are looking for current students that have finished their first or second year of PhD in the areas of life sciences. CEITEC will select the top students to spend a summer internship in Basel, Switzerland at the Novartis campus for 3 months in 2015. The program will teach students how working life is in a top pharmaceutical company, plus many soft skills to enhance the experience of developing scientists.

› moreThe EMBO Young Scientists Forum organized by CEITEC research group leaders Dr. Štěpánka Vaňáčová (RNA Quality Control research group) and Dr. Richard Štefl (Structural Biology of Gene Regulation research group) was held at the University Campus Bohunice on May 29-30, 2014. The meeting provided the opportunity to our PhD students and post docs to interact with European most promising young scientists, members of the EMBO Young Investigator Programme, and motivate them to pursue their career and education in the life sciences.

On May 15, the conference on “Integrated Approaches to Structural Biology” was held in Augustinian Abbey in Brno.
We would like to express our thanks to all invited speakers for their talks and to all attendees for their participation.
A microscope, unique even by world standards. This is one of the outcomes of the scientific reseach at CEITEC BUT, which also serves as an example of how to access European funds. Thanks to well-chosen instruments and technology acquired through the targeted support of the ERDF - European Regional Development Fund, for large infrastructures and approved by the Czech government, they have been able to obtain and implement research projects awarded directly by the European Commission. The result of the synergy of national and european grant policy is exemplified by the participation of CEITEC BUT scientists in the scientific research project UnivSEM. This is financed from the main instruments of the European Union for financing research and development, 7th Framework Programme (FP7).
› more3rd International Congress on Epilepsy, Brain and Mind was held in Brno, Czech Republic on April 3–5, 2014, under the auspices of the Czech Chapter of the International League Against Epilepsy and Chapters of ILAE from Albania, Austria, Croatia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Macedonia, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia.

Young scientists Petra Procházková and Jan Novotný were awarded by the first and the third place for the best scientific poster presentation at prestigious conference ESAS (European Symposium on Atomic Spectroscopy). Both of them are from X-ray Micro CT and Nano CT research group leaded by prof. Jozef Kaiser.
