On Thursday, 25 May, CEITEC BUT welcomed Israeli Ambassador Daniel Meron, who had the opportunity to visit the research laboratories of CEITEC NANO and the Laboratory of Computer Tomography. After the tours, discussions were held over the possibilities of student exchange programs, technology transfer and other possibilities of Israeli-Czech cooperation.

› moreScientists from the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Science of the Czech Republic (AS CR) and from CEITEC Masaryk University have completed an extensive critical overview of potential impacts of various impurities in iron, nickel and aluminium on material cohesion and its possible sudden failure. The article covering theoretical and experimental results of the Czech experts supplemented by available literature data was published in one of the most reputable journals in the field of materials science, Progress in Material Science, with the impact factor of 31.083. This journal is the third out of 271 journals in the category MATERIALS SCIENCE, MULTIDISCIPLINARY, so that it belongs nearly to the highest percentile (1.11 %) in this category.

Realized project "Structural analysis of supramolecular systems", reg. No. 7F16002 (SUPRAMOL CZ09) was based on a close collaboration of theoretical physics and chemical interpretation applied on spectroscopic observables, namely NMR shielding and UV absorption spectra providing an unique insight into the electronic structures of supramolecular complexes.
› moreThe second CEITEC PhD Retreat took place in Telč from 20 to 21 April 2017. The event perfectly fulfilled its purpose to bring together more than 90 PhD students from the fields of life sciences, material science, chemistry and physics and create a friendly and stress-free environment. Students presented their research in 25 talks and on 70 posters, they could listen to talks addressed by 7 internationally recognized speakers. The participants enjoyed the opportunity to discuss their research and possible collaboration and share their experience.
