Applications Involving Synthetic Nucleic Acids and Nucleotides

Applications Involving Synthetic Nucleic Acids and Nucleotides

WHEN: 4th – 5th December
WHERE: University of East Anglia, Norwich UK

ABSTRACT:

Synthetic and modified versions of nucleic acids and nucleotides provide new molecules to be exploited in scientific research and medicine. Starting from descriptions of the range of modified and synthetic molecules that are available, this workshop will go on to evaluate how they can be used as new tools for research and in potential therapeutic applications. Workshop attendees will have opportunities to describe their own research via oral presentations.

Speakers:

Gerd Wagner (King's College London) – invited speaker
Richard Bowater (University of East Anglia)
Zoe Waller (University of East Anglia)
Mirek Fojta (CEITEC)

Preliminary programme:

Day 1: 4th December 14:00-17:00
Will be devoted to background lectures and discussions about the topic.

Day 2: 5th December 10:00-17:00
Will focus on research being undertaken at the Norwich Research Park and as part of the BISON project. Talks will be a mixture of short talks from offered presentations (from UEA, CEITEC, Norwich Research Park researchers).
