Central European Institute of Technology - Veterinary Research Institute (CEITEC VRI) is an independent institute at Veterinary Research Institute which was established within the framework of the CEITEC - Central European Institute of Technology. CEITEC includes the leading Brno universities and two research institutes who joined forces in order to establish a centre of scientific excellence. Head of the CEITEC VRI is Dr. Martin Anger, Ph.D.
Research Institute of Veterinary Medicine was founded in 1955 by the Minister of Agriculture Department of the then Czechoslovak Academy of Agricultural Sciences. It is the only professional research institute in the Czech Republic aimed at research in the field of veterinary medicine with a significant proportion of applied research. Its focus, however, covers a wide range of preclinical disciplines in veterinary medicine in the intersection of human ecology and other disciplines.
