Part of course VLNEU091 Topics in Cognitive Neurology
This lecture series will discuss how neuropsychological investigations in patients with brain disorders contributed to our understanding of the neural networks involved in higher cognitive functions. The power of combining lesion-deficit correlation studies in neurological patients with functional imaging studies of cognition in normal subjects will be illustrated. Specific topics covered will include Alzheimer’s disease, the neurobiology of spoken and written language, and the neural systems implicated in recognizing facial identity and emotion.
