CEITEC presents itself in the MIPIM trade fair in Cannes

MIPIM – the international trade fair of real estates and investment opportunities – is starting in Cannes, France today. This year Brno, with the participation of its mayor Roman Onderka, presents itself as an important city of science and research.  The Central European Institute of Technology CEITEC is one of the significant projects being introduced. The trade fair is on until 10th March.

MIPIM represents an opportunity for Czech towns and regions which present their attractive locations for investment projects of foreign investors here. This year, there are also other towns of the South Moravian and Central Bohemia regions presenting themselves apart form the traditional three largest cities of Prague, Brno and Ostrava. Apart from town and regions, there are also the most important European and global investors, developers, banks and financial institutions and professionals active in the real estate market going to present themselves in this 22nd year of the renowned trade fair.

In the last year’s event, Brno was successful in achieving the title award of the European City of Future. This year Brno is presenting itself as an important centre of science and research. Next to others, the Central European Institute of Technology CEITEC is being presented, whose ambition in future is to attract domestic and foreign investors and companies which will participate in the development of science and research in the whole region.

The project CEITEC was created mainly in order to help the existing basic and applied research located in the South Moravian region to reach a top level by means of suitable mechanisms. Its purpose is not only to join the activities carried out in the region into the European research area but also to open it to the world by means of creating conditions suitable for cooperation with the private sector. It is the use of the results of scientific research for the needs of commercial companies that will bring long-term increase in the competitiveness of the whole region. CEITEC will bring new jobs in perspective fields and the creation of research laboratories for over 1200 students and almost 600 scientists.
